Signe Emmeluth is a 30-year-old Danish saxophonist, composer and improviser based in Oslo. Like her compatriot Mette Rasmussen, Emmeluth graduated in music from the prestigious NTNU (University of Science and Technology) in Trondheim. At the 64th JFL the two will play together in Gard Nilssen’s Supersonic Orchestra. The engaging and explosive Amoeba is a boundary-pushing jazz quartet that moves between the arranged and improvised. The group has toured extensively in the four years of since its formation, including concerts at Europe’s leading festivals, gaining visibility as a major live attraction in the Nordic countries. “Here’s something different, not least because repeated airings reveal depth, subtlety and nuances in a way that’s far from common in contemporary jazz.”  Nic Jones, Jazz Journal

Due to the cancellation of his European tour Ben LaMar Gay will not perform at the 64th Ljubljana Jazz Festival.
