“Domen Cizej Trio presents an acoustic jazz piano trio sound that exudes lyricism, beauty, and purity of musical expression. Collectively the trio possesses and employs a high degree of acceptance and sensitivity within a play, which allows us the freedom to explore limitless musical directions, unbound by any constraints or preconceptions. The experience of playing with Hendrik and Soet is like being transported back to my childhood, stepping onto the playground, fully immersing myself in the infinitum of imagination with a perfect balance of playfulness and seriousness, and existing in that state until reality interrupts. Overall, the trio presents itself musically as a cohesive and expressive unit, drawing on the traditions of jazz while also pushing the boundaries of the genre through creative exploration.”
