Trokut is an electronic jazz group formed in 2018. The band's repertoire consists of their original music inspired by contemporary jazz and different genres of electronic music. Their melodies and sound textures show influences of Kneebody, Radiohead, Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, Nerve, Madlib and different ECM Records artist. Their broad sound palette features different aspects of contemporary jazz such as improvisation over given forms and harmonic progressions, ambient music soundscapes, textures of modern electronic music, rock energy and the repetitiveness of minimalism in classical music.
Trokut have performed at different venues and festivals in Croatia and Slovenia, including Cankarjev dom (Zvončki in trobentice Festival) and the River Jazz Festival. The band's various projects have been supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, Stadt Graz and O¨H Graz. Trokut’s critically acclaimed album Shapeless, released in autumn 2020 on London-based label Rika Muzika, was nominated for the prestigious Croatian music award Porin (Best Electronic Music Album of the Year) in 2021. As a group, they were nominated for the Rock&Off Award in the Jazz&Off category.
