Lakiko, cello, vocals
Lakiko – aka Lana Kostic – was created in 2016 in the bowels of an EEG-machine in Biel. While using her brainwaves simultaneously as an instruction manual on what to play next, Lakiko created material that seemingly originates beyond the depths of human consciousness – a deeply buried part of our brain. This music – an impression of Lana Kostić’s musical biography – could not have been more manifold: influences of Bosnian music blend with classical music, breathy pop vocals with contemporary spoken word, driving beats next to nearly endless glissandi-loops and in between, again and again, the haunting sound of the cello. While her 2020 JFL concert was streamed from Lana’s living room, this year the cellist will perform live at the CD Park.
