Sidsel Endresen, glas / vocals
Abstraktna besedila, zapeta ob minimalistični spremljavi, prispevajo k občutku prostornosti in brezčasnosti.

Norwegian singer, composer and poet, Endresen attained international renown already towards the end of 1980s, when she entered into a recording contract with ECM. Her two albums under this label, So I Write (1990) and Exile (1994), feature artists such as Django Bates, Jon Christensen, Nils Petter Molvær, David Darling and Bugge Wesseltoft. She formed a duo with the latter (who is also appearing at the Ljubljana Jazz Festival this year) and in 1998 their Duplex Ride won the “Norwegian Grammy” (Spellemannsprisen, first in the line of three). Later on, they released various albums under Wesseltoft’s Jazzland label. Endresen’s delicate sound discloses a fine balance between experimental and jazz music, echoing elements of the “New Music”. Underpinned by minimalist accompaniment, the abstract lyrics add to the mood of spaciousness and timelessness.
