One of the most exciting music bands of the century is coming to Ljubljana: a category-defying jazz music figure putting its own trademark twist to the genre. A number-one live attraction of some of the globe’s most prestigious music festivals, Snarky Puppy will provide a spectacular finale to the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Jazz Festival Ljubljana. The fusion-influenced collective displays a rare and delicate mixture of sophisticated composition, harmony and improvisation.

Formed in Denton, Texas, in 2004, Snarky Puppy feature a wide-ranging group of over 30 musicians affectionately known as "The Fam," centred around bassist, composer and bandleader Michael League. The band’s live performance features a selection of 12 musicians from the rotating cast, insuring that each show is different not only due to the ever-changing setlists but also because of the various permutations of musicians.

Snarky Puppy have won three Grammy Awards, two for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album and one for Best R&B Performance.

“One of the more versatile groups on the planet right now.” - Rolling Stone

“Maybe you didn’t notice, but this is Snarky Puppy’s world, and the rest of us only live in it."  “A barnstorming, groove-centric instrumental act with a rabid fan base.” - The New York Times

"Many artists have attempted to bring jazz, kicking and screaming, into the modern age. Snarky Puppy, a loose collective from New York by way of Texas, makes it look effortless." - SF Chronicle
